Your visit

The worst night of your year, handled with care.

No appointment, ever. Here’s exactly what happens from the moment you arrive to the moment your pet goes home, so nothing about tonight is a surprise.

Check in from your phone
The bright, spacious lobby at Orange County Emergency Pet Clinics

Check in from your phone, or just walk in

Join the waiting room on the way. Your place shows on the board in our lobby and on your phone, so you always know where you stand. Our doctors are already here. We never have to call one in.

A registered tech sees your pet right away

Our receptionist takes your pet straight back. A registered veterinary technician checks vital signs and looks for anything life threatening.

Like any emergency room, we see the sickest patients first. If someone arrives after you and goes ahead, it’s because their pet can’t wait. Yours is being watched the whole time.

The doctor examines your pet and talks it through with you

Your $125 exam covers vital signs, a complete physical exam, and time with the doctor to talk about what’s going on. Veterinary care is a partnership, and you’re part of every decision.

You see the plan and the cost before we start

You get a written treatment plan with every test and treatment on it, and what each one costs. Nothing starts until you agree. If cost is tight, we’ll help you choose what matters most tonight.

Answers and treatment, all under one roof

Bloodwork and urine tests in our own lab. Digital X‑rays read by a board‑certified radiologist. Oxygen, blood products, fluids and emergency surgery when they’re needed.

If your pet stays overnight

Windows everywhere, so no patient is ever out of sight. Live heart rate and breathing on a screen beside the doctor. Each incoming doctor examines every hospitalized pet and updates the plan, and we keep you posted.

Home, and back to your family vet

We send your pet’s records, X‑rays and test results to your family vet, so their care picks up right where ours left off. You can see your pet’s records and X‑rays online too.

What to bring

A few things that help us help faster.

  • Your pet on a leash or in a carrier
  • Any medications they take, or a photo of the labels
  • The package, if they ate something they shouldn’t have
  • Your family vet’s name, so we can send them everything

We hope you don’t need us. We’re here if you do.
